1. Counselling theories
- Particularities of individual and group counselling in some most frequent counselling theories (psychodynamic, behavioural, Rogers' person-centered, reality theory and theories of short, solution-focused counselling).
- In-depth analysis of the position of counsellor and counselee according to humanist counselling theories.
- Analysis of the counselling conversation (directive and non-directive approach).
- Particularities (differences) of counselling to pupils, secondary school students and parents (adults).

2. Forms of preventive work with pupils and students to reduce deviations in learning, for personal and social development (capacitating pupils for successful learning, decreasing their use of drugs and other illicit substances, reducing violence, etc.)

3. Counselling and consultation work with parents
- School pedagogue's (school counsellor's) counselling work with parents depends on the way the educational system and school are organized.
- Cooperation with parents of at-risk children groups.
- Parents' motivation for cooperation; forms of individual and group cooperation (class meetings, children at risk parent groups) and counselling work.
