The teaching practice consists of observing the teaching of expert teachers and other novice teachers with the help of goal-oriented tasks, discussions with the mentor teacher after each lesson, preparing lesson plans, independent teaching, self-assessment of teaching, participating in teacher tasks outside of the classroom (such as parent meetings, administrative tasks).
Teaching practice is usually carried out in public primary and secondary school anywhere in Slovenia, where there are enough English lessons in the programme and where there is a teacher employed who can mentor the student. The duration of the placement is 1 week at a primary or secondary school (in accordance wih the student's options). The main activities are observing the mentor teacher and teaching lessons independently with guidance and feedback from the mentor. Each TP is documented by a portfolio.
