A selected mythological theme is considered under the following aspects:
1) establishing a collection of sources;
2) contextual aspects:
a) myth and ritual;
b) myth in literature and theatre (especially in epic and tragedy);
c) myth and philosophy (philosophical interpretations of myth from the Presocratics to the Neoplatonists);
d) myth in visual arts.
3) modern theories and interpretive approaches (from the Enlightenment to the 20th century: Fontenelle, Vico, Hume, Heyne, Herder, Schelling, Frazer and the ritualists, W. Otto, Propp's and narratology, psychoanalitical approaches, Lévi-Strauss and structuralism, French historical anthrolopology).
